i will ask Paul, certainly doesn't ring a bell. There was pacific Steel and a Japanese company extracting Iron sand from the west coast.
EDIT: found it,
quote:
Steel & Tube was formed 9 December 1953 merging the interests of:
Stewarts and Lloyds of New Zealand Limited;
The Iron and Steel Company of New Zealand Limited; and
McLean & Todd Limited.
The core business of the newly formed entity was to supply steel and allied products to New Zealand industry and in particular to the construction, engineering, and, manufacturing sectors.

25% of this company was owned by the British Steel and tube company which later became the owner of all the English steel producers ...and has basically faded away. I would imagine the 600 went to the UK or Hong Kong or even here after the New Zealnd company was sold off in the latter part of the 1960's.
Todds owned the Chrysler Franchise and the Europa oil company in New Zealand. The oil came from Russia...!

In that case it is probably the black SWB-car David Blackmore owned 001675.
That car was ordered by the chairman of britisch Steel Cie.

It was in NZ all that time? I never saw it ,I should send David an email and ask .All NZ cars have 'ownership' papers outlining all owners of a car with addresses etc. it's also the same chassis number as my 6.3..001675.

I'd like to add my 600 LWB to the registry. The window tag is - 100-014-12-001870

The data card is 491 580 992
180G ===
100014 12 7
M 00317 70006

I tried to include pictures but had problems and I really don't want to learn any more computer stuff..If it's not as simple as Facebook I ain't playin'. If someone wants to send me an email address I can attach a couple pics there and send them back.

I also have (5) 6.3's that I'll add when I have time.

Thank you for adding your car.
I have to correct my database, while it turns out to be a LWB.
The webmaster is working out a ability to upload cars in the registery. As soon as it is available, we will add much cars to that registery.
I will add your car to the overview from identified cars on page 1 as a start for now.

Hi Paul

As life has it, I've been busy and have not been able to follow all threads here as much as wanted.

Here is an unusual request.
An E-bay seller in Germany is asking for the possible known whereabouts of #000469.
My GUESS is, that he has come across that car in the past and wants to know what happened to it.

If it ever comes up (I know it hasn't been verified)would you let me know ??
His name is Siegfried, and if wanted I'll pass on personal contact info....

Thanks
Alex
